Buying CLK200K - Advice needed
Hi Gents,
I am very new to Mercedes. I have been driving Smart Roadster Coupe for quite a while and it`s been a great fun. But now time for a change and I am looking for something different - CLK200K 04 - 06 reg.
I have got some questions and need your advice:
1. Someone advised me to buy CLK240 instead of CLK200K saying that 1.8 engine would be noisy and struggle to accelerate. Is that true?
2. What is an average fuel consumption you reach on your CLK200K driving around town; A-B roads; Motorway cruising?
3. Do you feed your car normally with standard petrol or use V Power type?
4. What`s an average service interval on your car and how much does it cost on average - service A; service B?
5. Buying CLK200K 04-06reg what should I pay attention to? Are there any common issues? I know that servicing can be expensive hence would like to avoid any surprises.
thanks,

1. Brother has a CLK 200K, I have a 320. Acceleration in the 200K is fine, a little slower than the 320 but it has no problem.
2. 200K fuel consumption actual over 2 years is 19mpg in town 32mpg motorway.
3. standard unleaded
4. Varies with mileage and dealer.
5. ALL CLK's suffer from rusting on front and rear wings, don't know of any one over 10 years old without rust spots, also subject to MAF sensor problems of varying degrees.
