Default Aftermarket stereo

I have a 2000 CLK430 Cab with the factory stereo (not COMMAND). Is there an aftermarket stereo that will work with the MB steering wheel controls? Ideally, I'd also like something that would allow me to use my bluetooth phone as well.

i have a 2000 ML and a 2003 S500, almost no installer wants to work with them (except one in Manhattan ask for $1800 for the job) to get Ipod and bluetooth to each cars. so luck at all....

Cool Good Luck!!

I have just gone through exactly the same thing trying to find an aftermarket unit for my 2002 CLK430 Cab. My big thing was to have the ability through bluetooth to integrate my cell phone into the car system, as I drive a lot and don't like having to handle the phone manually. Every place I went said no chance - apparently the reason is that there are fiber optic connections between the head unit and the amplifier, so you have to replace the amplifier as well because there are no head units out there compatible with the fiber optics. The next problem is that the MBZ amplifier/speaker system is apparently 1 Ohm and you can't get 1 Ohm aftermarket amplifiers, so now you have to replace all of the speakers (and most places said all or most of the wiring as well). After hearing this several times, I had given up hope, until I found the Argos system. It is a bluetooth receiver/transmitter that integrates seamlessly into the fiber optics, and allows for the use of a bluetooth phone with your existing system, including Voice Control (if you have it), the steering wheel controls and the built-in microphone. I sincerely suggest you check out this option - there is more specific information about the Argos unit on other topics in this forum - search "argos" and you will find them.
