2003 auto 60k miles only. From time to time key will not turn, nothing comes on, I have to lock manually. This occurs intermittently, sometimes recovers after 30 mins, sometimes I need AA who can't find problem but get it going with battery power up. It has been to 3 different garages to check and diagnose. Battery checked and good only quite new. Sometimes AA suggest new key barrel required but it is not this. This can go on intermittently for about a month then it appears to rectify itself and is good for another year or two. Any suggestions as to how to identify and solve this issue? Thx.

 

Likely a bad EIS - replace it and key.
