Default Adapting Stereo for iPhone/iPod

Does anyone have advice / suggestions on how to adapt the stereo in a 2003 CLK 55 AMG to be able to play music from an iPod (iPhone 4 in my case)? I was able to do this using an adapter from Crutchfield on a 2000 Audi A6 I own, but they did not have anything that would work similarly for my CLK. The Audi solution involved attaching an adapter through the in-trunk CD changer. While the CLK also has an in-trunk CD changer, Crutchfield did not have an adapter that will work with it (something about being a digital interface on the CLK). -Al

I think all CLK's came with an adaptor socket in the glove compartment. An inexpensive Jack should do it. You will still have to control iPhone, ipod on your own ( manually ).
I have 2002 CLK cab and i use it that way.

Default Glovebox adapter

Thank you - I had no idea there was an adapter in the glovebox. I have a proper cable, but another question. How do I set the receiver to play the audio from this source? I don't see an auxiliary setting or anything.

Do you have " command " on your CLK ?
If you do I can walk you thru. I have 2002 so there may be some difference.

Thank you, RS. I mis-typed. It is a 2002. And yes, it has the COMAND system. I have only owned it since July and am enjoying cleaning it up from the previous owner. Are you still happy with yours? How many miles? -Al

From Setting button on command you will see "Auxiliary" Option
highlight and press button to go to it. ( keep volume high on your iPod or iPhone ) control volume with controls for Radio. You seem to have found hookup in the glove compartment.
If you get stuck feel free to call my cell

I have had mine since late 2001. Love the way it drives. has now 83000 miles on it.
Ran in to issues with the top ( hydraulic pump ) and other major repair was fiberoptic repair on communication to CD player and Blue tooth.
