2000 clk 430

this past winter my battery kept dying so i would have to jump it from the front, the last time i did it, it took a while but when it started it made like a kick back sound, then all the lights went on, bat/alt, esp, etc, and my power steering is out and the brakes feel like they dont hold, so i bought a new battery put it in and same thing, it started fine but no power steering then after 20 min it wouldnt take gas it just idled and died i couldnt start it, any ideas what it could be? last year i tuned it up changed the crank shaft so i know its not that, thanks
