Please help, my window "unseals" itself !!!
Hello fellow MFers,
I recently acquired a 1993 600 SEC and this model has an "automatic window sealing" option when the doors close.
Also, when the doors open, the windows "unseal" about a half an inch. I'm not sure why.
While the driver door/window functions perfectly, the passenger window seems to have a mind of its own and randomly "unseals" itself, sometimes while driving.
I have been to an authorized dealer and a local mechanic and they want over $1000 just to look, not to fix anything.
They may not even be able to fix the problem.
Has anyone had or ever heard of this problem before? anything would be a big help.
being driven crazy,
bob

Yeah, this happened on our '01 CL600 after the battery was exchanged. It seemed the computer lost its memory on where to position the windows... I don't remember the exact procedure our trusty shop took in order to fix this matter. However, it was only about 2 minutes to fix.I pulled these instructions off the net:
Hopefully you can repair it with this resetting:
You will need to perform this on both of your windows.
Turn ignition to the accessories position..
open the window approx half way.
Press the switch to close the window, but do not press it all the way down(that would activate the one touch feature)
once window has closed, keep pressing on the switch for 10 seconds.
Release the switch and repeat the exact same procedure for rolling the window down.
Hopefully, that helps.
