My dad recently bought a 98 CL600 with 35k miles. He noticed a few things that he wasn't sure about and I was hoping to get some opinions/schooling.

Without much background, the car is an imported and had the OBD and such changed to be legal in the states. I'm not sure ifthe key is original if that has anything to do with it. It is a flip key with one button in the middle with a mercedes emblem on it.

When you get in the car, in order to start the car you have to hit the button on the key which turns on the little red light on the rearview mirror, then you have to hit it again to make the green light go off, then you can start the car. Is this normal?

When you turn the car off the emergency lights flash for awhile. They flash slower then when you hit the actual e-lights button.

He says that the air conditioner doesn'tdoesn't get coldunless you click one of the buttons by the center air vents, and turn on the charcoal filter. Not sure about the validity of this yet.
