Default HEAD GASKET PROBLEM

Couple miles ago i noticed a oil leakm about 1 ct per hour. lol. CL6oo 2001. After changing the breather hose i knew i had to go deeper. 8 hours later i had the throttle, intake, exhaust and covers off. Got the Passanger side Head off. And i am stuck. There is a guide rail going from the drivers side head into the engine. this rail for the timing chain is pinned in place. this keeps the head from lifting off the cylinder. Now i wonder what would be easiest? Taking the entire front off the engine off to somehow get to the lower PIN thats holding the rail in place. or if i should do it from the top by taking off the front lid off of the head>? This lid is connected to the cam and seems like a bad idea to unbolt if you first can get to the bolts. now my question is what is the easiest way of getting the rial to release the drivers side head?

And oh yeah, the leak is coming from the oil cooler assembly in between and under the heads>>stupid design.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THank you in advance

you only do it all from the top.

a slide hammer or a shop made tool can pull the stud of the rail. it got screw inside.
