Default Windshield Wiper Freezes/Sticks in Motion

Im having a very weird problem, and I cant tell if its physical or electrical. Reguardless of wether its rainy or dry, the Single wiper on my 97 C230 sticks twice before reaching the other side of the windshield. Since I have a single wiper, it makes several movements, and no matter the speed of the wiper, it stutters like the blade is gripping the windshield. I hoped it was the blade, so I went and bought a new BOSCH blade last night, and the problem didnt change. Anyone ever hear of this?

Thanks,
Evan

I have heard of this. Normally, Lubricating the shaft which does the extending fixes this. I have found that a copper based grease works best.

Turn on your wiper and switch off the ignition when fully extended. Pull off the small base cover over the extending shaft and smear it with copper grease and reassemble.
