I drive a 2003 C240 sedan. I drive frequently and have amassed 72,000 miles with no major engine problems yet (knock on burl maple wood!)

What does everyone else out in the world have on their W203 and what, if any, problems have you encountered? Is this a long-haul, bulletproof engine?

I have 2002 c230K with 92xxx miles. so far so good.... just minor problem.... no engine problem

I have a 2005 C320 with around 18k miles. An electrical problem causing the windows and sunroof to raise and lower at any time out of the blue. The dealership more than took care of the problem whe I took the car in to be fixed. I have no complaints about this car, it runs and looks as it did the day I drove it off the lot. I also don't understand how Lexus can score higher in servicing... The staff at my dealership in Calgary are the friendliest, most personable people I've ever dealt with. The loaner cars are always BRAND new and loaded (never borrowed a car with over 10,000kms), and everything is done promptly.

 

Well i have never owned a Lexus but the at Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown the Service writers are complete ***-holes and not just to me i have seen them be that way to other people as well. The techs are ok, the sales people are well sales people and all parts department workers are great. But because of the Service writers i can only rate the whole dealership is ok at best.

 

I have a 2001 C320

Almost 120,000 Miles and it just gets better - faster and smoother.

Only 3 Faults ever on the car.

1, Both Rear Springs replaced in 2005 - 2, Front Bushes etc.again in 2005 (poor road surfaces in the UK, worst in Europe) - and in 2001 one remote control packed up in first 6 months of ownership. (oh and one HEADLAMP Bulb - but that doesn't count)

I have a C280 with 133k miles and runs perfect

 

'97 C280 161,000 miles, only major repair was a new electric transmissioncontrol unit for $1,800 total, installed at 158,000 miles. The car is running very well now.

'04 C320 with 51,000 miles.It receiveda completely new transmission at about 35,000 miles, under warranty. The other repair was for a defective power steering pump at 48,000 miles,under warranty. I purhased this car new and am very surprised by these two defects. The car runs very well now.

 

Now on 145,000 and still running great!!

146,000 Miles and still counting.

 

67,000 miles on 2003 C230 coupe . Other than bad O2 sensor a few months ago no problems at all.
