I don't have enough money to buy c230 coupe 2006.
so I'm interested in 2002 c230 coupe.
What are the differences?
I hope not that many..or I can modify like 2006 lol

Mostly gimnicks ie electronic stuff and probably a lot of bugs have been worked out? But they are the same car for the most part,

 

main difference is D2B (<2005) vs MOST (2005+) fiber optics...
if you don't mind about DVD COMAND, then go for 2002 model and save $$$ mods...

There is alot more of a difference in those 2 model years than fiber optics. Most notable is the motor. The 02 is the last year you can get with the 2.3L Kompressor motor. After 02 they switched to a 1.8L motor which IMO SUCKS! As far as visually they are nearly identical. One point to watch out for in all pre-05 MB's is the Climate Control Purge rod that breaks almost like clockwork. When you start your car it cycles through the climate control opening and closing all the vents in a sort of test mode if you will. After time the rod that ontrols the actuation of the vents breaks(since it's plastic) and for about the first 60 seconds your car is running you'll hear this loud, "tap, clunk, pop" sound coming from the back of the dashboard. Or the teeth on the cog that rotates the vents open break off(since they are plastic too) and the cog "slips" in place resulting in the same annying noise. The bad news is that it's a $25 part and $600 worth of labor to replace it because of where it is located. Good luck in your search. IMO if you want the better motor go with the 02, if you want less miles and more life left on the warranty go with something newer.

 

I notice that there is a change in the head lights, the hood and the grill. From the C230 2002 to the C230 2005. Is just a visual efect?? Or they are actually different?

 

depends on country. i have a 2005 with 2500cc v6. Over here also can find 4 cil 1800cc however CDI version isnt available.
