The MB part number is: Auxillary input cable harness (A 203 540 61 07) about $44.00. Good Luck!

"whether I will be able to use the ipod itself or if I'll still be force to use the dashboard interface."

I'm having a little bit of trouble controlling the iPod at all once it's plugged in? Can anyone help me with this??

Thanks,

Marissa

Wow...interesting reading. Heres what I know on the 2008 C-class ipod issue. I ordered mine three days ago. My wife wanted the integrated ipod option for an additional $375.00. This allowed you to operate the ipod from the steering wheel and see it visually from the the radio display. At the time I put the order in, MB dealer said that that option was no longer available singularly. You must order the "multimedia package " for $2950.00 if you want that feature. So if you don't order the pkg, you just get the receptical for the ipod, and you operate it from the ipod itself....O.K. for me......MB did say that they would notify us if and when it does become available, and they would install the software/hardware at the dealer for $375.00.....

Hello...

Why not you try to find "FM Modulator" which you can find a lot in the market right now (cheap too), which you can just jack-in the iPod to it, plug the Modulator to the cigarette lighter& then transfer the frequency to the FM Radio. The sound is 'crystal-clear' & you can choose whatever frequency you want.
I am using it in my 2002 C200K, because i'm having problem with my 6-CD Changer & I don't want to think too much about audio.
Furthermore, with thisFM Modulator, u can use USB Thumbdrive (which has songs in it) & any other device such as portable CD Player, iPod, MP3 Player etc...
Good Luck.

hello
mine is 2006 but sadly doesn't have the CD changer in the glove box, When i hit the CDC button it shows AUX Active but i have searched for the white plug and couldn't find it :S
Is it possible that that car isn't pre-wired
thanks in advance
