Hello, have the 2003 C320 4matic V6

Can I get away with Mobil 1 5W-30 living in North Carolina for this car?

Or, do I have to go with the Mobil 1 0W-40?

Approx 55000 miles on it, and have no idea what the previous owner was using...

I can save about 20 dollars with the 5W-30 oil (both are full synthetics) and am tight on money at the moment. Have to buy 9 quarts of this stuff....ugh.

Well I don't even know what type of oil the engine recommends so that is the basis for asking. And I simply know it requires full synthetic oil but not the type.

And living in the south east US

Forgive me for not knowing which type and figured the best thing to do was ask here.

I figured for sure many in here could help an idiot like me. I simply don't know if I trust the fly by night oil change places that are nearby me.

Hopefully someone in here will know. I thought it would be a pretty basic question to most of you that know these cars very well.
