Default turn signals out

I've posted this problem before with no luck, so here it goes again...my inspection was due in December!!
I have a 2003 C240 and my front turn signals don't work. I was told that Mercedes put out a fix for this, and now the sockets get "hard wired" to the car. However, the dealership wants about $200 for the job--yeah right! $200 to fix 2 blinkers seem ridiculous! Is there any way for me to fix this? I can go buy the parts ($30 each) but don't want to pay the $105+ in labor...any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

THANKS!!!

you do need a harness update which updates the ground wire to the body of the car. you will need to remove connector on back of headlamp assembly and remove one of the pins and install the new harness into that pin hole. then ground the new harness to the body and plug in the socket. the new harness will come with a new socket for the bulb

thanks! seems easy enough..the dealership was telling me they needed to "reset" the computer to recognize the new hardware...whatever...they think because i'm a girl I'll believe whatever comes out of their mouths!

thanks again!
