Default Takes a few seconds to accelerate

Hey all, first time posting on here, first off let me explain what’s happening

so my 03 C320 that I got last month with 70k miles on it is having problems.

first issue is sometimes it’s not accelerating for 3-5 seconds after pushing the pedal down and then it’s fine.
couple days later after this issue arised the car wouldn’t start, replaced the CPS, fuel filter and fuel pump and that fixed it.
couple days go by and now the old problem is back with the acceleration.
if I’m at a stop sign and go to accelerate it takes 3 seconds to register my foot is on the pedal.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum! Are you able to pull any codes? Has the CEL come on at all as well?

Actually today the first CEL came up and it popped up as P0123 which says throttle/pedal position sensor A circuit high input, but reading online someone said it could also be the APP instead of the TPS. I just ordered a TPS and hopefully that will fix it.

also the problem only happens when I push the gas pedal all the way down so it hits the automatic kickdown button.

Hopefully that addresses the issue. In case you have any issues in the future, take a look at the link below to our site's DIY tech articles on the W203 platform.
