just wondering if anyone can help me, I have a c240 auto, and when I drive in auto it's lovely but if I put it tiptronic and give it high revs this engine diagnosis indicator lamp comes on, this also happens if cruise control is on and the revs go high then it will also come on, and on both times i loose power have to pull over and turn off the engine the light will go off after 3 or 4 days, Has anyone had this problem or know why it would do this any help would be really apprieciated

Not sure you're having the same problem but I had a problem with the car loosing power, meaning I press the gas and the car moves very slowly. That turned out to be a faulty gas pedal sensor. Had it changed (about $400) and the problem disappeared.

Thanks for your reply, did you find it was hesitating when you pulled away? only sometimes though, my problems seems to only be cruise control or when driving it as a manual when you give really high revs, I'm waiting for my guy to come back off his holidays to test it on his machine, so just have to wait and see,
Thanks for your help

If you're in manual mode, and you get to the red line, the gas will be cut off on the 2001 models to avoid overrevving the engine. On later year models (not sure exactly what year it changed), they made the transmission shift up to the next gear when you get to the red line. Perhaps this iswhat you're running into with high revs and with the cruise control?
