stop-start technology

I have purchased, but not yet taken delivery of, a twelve month old C180 CGI Blue Efficiency Sport estate. It has all of the usual bells and whistles including stop-start. Can anyone tell me how this works in this car please? Even the salesman who sold me the car doesn't know!
I am aware that in some systems it works by cutting the ignition when the car is stopped for more than a couple of seconds and re-starts, via the starter motor in the normal way when the accelerator is depressed again.
In others I believe the ignition is cut as above and when the accelerator is pressed again fuel is injected into a cylinder in the compression position and the plug fires to "kick-start" the engine.
Am I getting one of the above or a different system altogether? Whichever it is, from my test drive I have to say that the stop and re-start is virtually seamless with no sound of a start-up at all.

This is what I know about it,
Certain variables need to happen before ECO start stop works.
Engine at 60 celcius, Good brake booster pressure, doors closed, belt buckled, ECO not deactivated by ECO button on dash.
uses an enhanced pinion starter design to restart the engine. you can hear the starter but its quick and pretty quiet. car has 2 batteries and when ECO starting the motor the aux battery maintains the cars electrical system and the main battery starts the motor.
ECO will display in cluster when eco is available.
