Cool SRS light

I just changed the multifunction switch in my 98 C230. Not too bad a task. Now I have a SRS light on. Took everything apart twice to double check connections. All good. I guess I need to reset the SRS now but my crappy Haynes book does not get me there. Any ideas?

you mean the turnsignal stalk? you probably need to clear the codes to clear it. if you did the whole job without turning the key on then the light should not come on! if you did the whole job correctly and the light is on something is not right. if the key is out of the ignition and you do the repair no srs light should be on then, so you probably have something wrong with the driver airbag connections or pins in the connectors.

Thanks for the response. I do mean the turn signal switch. I am sure that I did connect the battery and turn the key at some point during the re-assy to turn the wheel before the air bag was on. That probably screwed me huh?

So can I clear the SRS codes without expensive diagnostic equipment?

not sure if aftermarket code scanners clear srs codes. after so many turns of the ignition the srs will go out if the system does not see any faults after a given period of time.
