Squeaking steering on 1999 c280 80K
Hi Guys. First time posting, frequent reader.
I recently bought a 1999 C280 with 80000 miles. Great shape, runs like a dream etc... Just one problem, the power-steeringsqueaks a bit when I turn the wheels. The power-steering fluid was just topped up with last oil change. The sound does diminish when the car is warmer and has been driven for about 20 mins. The noise seems to be coming from under the hood (based on hearing from within the vehicle). Furthermore, there is slight low "grumbling" noise (no vibrations though) when making a very tight turn in either direction. Are these evidence of a power-steering hose leak or are these sounds somewhat normal? The car has had brand new tires put on just last week. Is there anything else that I should be worried about with this car in general? Anything to look out for?
Thanks!
