Hi
I have remove my 2 ignition coils for my 4 cylinder. How do I check to see if the spark plug wire or if the 2 series of ignition coils are in good order. The car shakes as if there are 2 cylinders not running.
Is there a way to check/test they are in good nick?

yes there is a way to test them how ever it is with a star diagnosis machine they have them at dealers. if your car is missing replace all the plug wires dont worry about the coils theye really dont go bad to offten while your replacing the coil wire you need to replace the plugs also if you got more than 80k on them

I just use my multimeter to test the Spark plug wire & set the ohmmeter to 2000. This is the readinfg I got. Lead number 1=1, 2=1762, 3=varied & not holding, 4=1795. This seems to confirm wire number 1 & 3 must be back. I tried this several times including with the Spark Plug connected to the leads. I get simmilar results. So it seems nothing wrong with the coils. But how do i replace the copper beru wires, it look difficult to remove the rubbers surrounding the connectors.
There is a slight tear on the rubber, wondering if this is OK?[/align]

hey buddy, im assuming your engine is a 111. wires are common problem on those cars. plugs always get replaced with wires. we mostly see water ingression into the plug wells. dont worry about the tear, if you buy factory parts you will be covered. do not buy aftermarket please!
your engine management system will disable the cyl's that are missing for the entire key cycle. its a 50-50 chance on having to resset adaptations or not after repair.
as mentioned before, you really should have it diagnosed by a competent tech with SDS.

The engine is 111.961 chasis 202.022
May be its not the wire itself but more the connectors particularly the Resistor Plug rather than the Suppressor/Spark Plug. I understand it may have an actualResistor in it?
But How do I remove that Resistor plug end from the wire? The Spark plug end can just twist to unscrew from the wire.
Only after i get this sorted out then off to a technician. The car need to run 1st otherwise its going no where. I have offer of help from members within my vicinity. I will take up that offer.
Thanks

some wires resistor ends can be threaded off. or twisted off. on the wire end of the resistor there is a threaded spike if you will that threads into to the center of the wire.
dont waste your time, get a set of wires with resistor ends. the come as a set for your car.

Hi
Can I ask a few question about this subject matter.
1) Is using an ohmmeter to measure the Ignition Wire from spark plug connector to Coil Plug end, accurate to determine which of 4 are faulty?
2) I'm able to unscrew the Spark Plug Connestor end but seems hard to remove the Coil end of the connector. How to remove this end?
3) Whats the replacement MB part number, some mention Bosch, brumi, Karlyn, bruni etc?
4) where can I buy that ships internationally?
Thanks
