Sounds very possible the LF SAM is going bad. Pull the cover off and make sure all the connections on the top are not loose. Also may be you have multi problems but is more likley the sam.

In my 1999 C280, the turn signals, four-way flasher and windshield wiper are all controlled by a circuit in the box adjacent to the fuses. The circuit is in a case about 1"x3"x1" with about a dozen pins on the bottom. I pried the cover off and stuck it back in the socket. If you do this and see three dinky relays and a few ICs, you have the right one. Then I turned on the turn signal. Then I pushed the circuit card left and right in the socket. In some positions it worked, and in some it didn't. This told me that there was a loose connection either in the socket or on the circuit board. Not wanting to dig into the wiring mess and the details of socket construction, I got out my soldering gun and carefully reflowed all the solder joints on the card that looked like they had anything to do with connecting the card to its pins. This cleared up the problem. If you do this, make sure you don't create any solder bridges where there are no connections between traces on the circuit board.
