Should I by 2002 c230 Kompressor?
I don't know much about mb, but I am looking for a car and I saw a 2002 c230 k that caught my eye.
it has 30,000 miles and looks like it has been taken care of.
Carfax says that there are no accidents and it has only had one owner.
I am about ready to take it to a shop to have it looked at.
I really like the looks of the car and it was fun to drive when I took it for a test drive.
I have been reading some forums and there seems to be some maintanence concerns about some of the later model mb's.
I currently have a 94 honda accord with 180,000 miles and it is bullet proof. Just start and go.
However, i am getting tired of the honda and want something a little sportier. I cant afford new, so I am going used.
Does any one have any info on c230 kompressors with over 50,000 miles?
I realize that It will not be as reliable as my honda, but I don't want to spend a bundle to maintain or repair it.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't want to spend a bundle to repair it, I wouldn't suggest buying one unless you're able to do some repairs yourself. Maintainance costs are ridiculous. You would get plenty of support from MBF if you do plan to DIY when problems come. Personally if it were me, I'd have the car checked by a certified master tech on the sellers expense. If everything seems to be ok, go ahead and buy it. You probably won't regret it, after all, it only has 30k miles. It'll last 150k if it's treated good like your Honda.
key points of interest:
-electrical (radio, antenna, etc)
-transmission & shifting
-rust (probably not a factor)
-tread wear and braking
