Hi everyone I am new to the forum and not yet a Benz owner. I am looking at a late 90s c230 that has some strange drivability issues. It shifts sluggish and will not take but the slightest of gas until it gets into fourth gear and then it seams to run fine. Its a1998 in fair condition otherwise with 113k on the Od. I can pick it up pretty cheep. Could these two issues be related and really be a rather easy fix or is the tranny soon to die? Should I rather look for an E Class

 

Looks like the tranny is going to be "kaput" aka Soon to be spending at least 4k for overhaul...
