Just recently I had my 2005 C230 serviced. However I had it done by a certified shop not the dealer as the service men at the dealer are idiots and they can't seem to learn the meaning of customer service. Seeing that is what I'm paying a premium price for, I decided to go else where.

Subsequent to my Service B being performed, my service alert message continues to come on. I've read the manual and it tells me to hold the button for a designated amount of time and it will turn it off.... NOT WORKING... The noise is really starting to bug me. Does any one have any suggestions or know how to reset the alert? And yes, I brought it back to the shop and they can't figure out the "trick" either... =)

Uhh, I have the same car. What page of the manual explains the procedure to clear the service code? What 'button' needs to be pressed, and for how long does the manual say?

Is the procedure to do this an international secret? Why not just post it with some easily searchable terms and be done with it?

<I don't care, I get my service done at a dealer (except for the repainiting and dents from the psychos in South Florida!! :grrrr: ) - just curious about the secrecy deal>

i dont know if it is a secret but me and this guy posted it before and somebody deleted it because i guess they dont want it out here..... but ill post it...and we'll see if someone deletes it...in case u dont get it just leave me ur email or send me a private message and ill b happy to email it to u...but its not in ur manual...so i guess they really dont want u to do it... i had a dealer print it out for me...cuz i was mad...that it didnt work. and i actually just changd my oil myself but that darn thing kept coming up..
