Hi,
My wife's 2002 240C has a problem with the right front turn signal. One day it would work and the next not. Now it does not work at all. I swapped the bulb from the left side and still does not work, so I know its not the bulb. I cleaned the contacts, still no luck. Any ideas?

Take the bulb back out and turn on the turn signal from the steering wheel area. Then take a 12V tester and touch the contacts with the leads to see if the 12V is flashing at the contacts. That's what I'd do to tell you juice is either getting there or not. If not, as I suspect from what you said, trace the power to the bulb socket back to the turn signal switch where the power comes from. If the left signal works, it's not the flasher either.

The turn signal modification kit is basically a "DTB" or dear technical bulletin. It solves the problem of the turn signal by using an alternate ground. in the wiring for the turn signal wiring harness. There is one kit for both side and it should cost less than a 100 bucks for both together. What you do is remove the turn signal socket, remove the connector for the headlamp, open the connector and remove the ground wire. I don't have the exact pins numbers in front of me, but you should check power to ground to find out which is which easily. Once you do that, you will see a near by ground point within the wires reach. Use a 10 mm to unscrew that and install your ground wire from the kit, and that's it.
