Default Radio speed volume Control

I just brought a 04 C230 and was wondering if there is a way to adjust the speed volume control on the radio

it automatically adjust itself. when you go to a higher speed, the radio turns up the volume...does it?

I've asked my dealer about it and they claim it is not adjustable. I personally find this one of the most useless and annoying features put on a car. The only way I can think of to do away with it is to change the stereo completely with an aftermarket unit.

Yes that is true but am asking how do you change the setting to control how much it will adjust. Right now the setting is too high so at highways speeds i have to turn dowm the volume so the sound does not sound distorted. I had an Audi and you could access those special settings and and change it from 1 (low) effect to 5 (high) effect. Wondering if there was a way to enter those backdoor settings on the radio for my 04 c230 non bose radio, thanks.

I realize your question, but the only answer is it isn't adjustable. It is preset in the radio when it is built.

quite easy.

there is one blue wire on the radio connector which gives signal to turn the volume up.

cut it.

if you need diagram, state your VIN.

My Bose system the radio volume lowers when the speed of the cars slows, and vice versa. I had a Bimmer with this feature, but you could adjust it by entering and code and you had three choice as I remember volume increase low, med and high. But my C280 does increase and decrease on its on? A Fluke or is this standard also? Also, my radio really doesn't increase volume until the car gets to 60mph. It also when shut off and the engine is shut off the volume control returns to the volume I had it set on previously when I turned it on.

But doesn't that data line also cut your communication between the stereo and car for other things too? I had the same problem and I asked a Crutchfield tech... he researched and found that the same data wire that controls the volume control also tells the radio to shut off when the ignition is turned off, so he suggested not cutting it.

True?

I wanted this option off because I added a 10" subwoofer to my car, and the volume control sporadically goes CRAZY because I'm guessing it picks up the low frequency bass and interprets it as "noise', so it goes up and down like crazy sometimes... and it's REALLY annoying.

C280 wizard, do you find the automatic volume control in your Bose system anoying? I believe i have the similar system and I think it works well. In my other car, I have a automatic volume control which I can set, and I've never found a setting that I like as well as the built in one in my C280's Bose system.
