Default radio codes

c230 needed a new battery. after replacing battery radio asked for code. MB gave me 14536 but it didn't work. i seem to remember them replacing my radio head unit after trouble with phone and cd. does new head require new code or should the old one work? also is there a proceedure to enter code? i entered five numbers and hit "OK" button. this took me back to "CODE". Three more times and it was "Wait" When i enter the fifth number of the code it wouldn't stop flashing like the others did. thanks

Default RE: radio codes

When I went to MB to get my code they said if it didn't work to bring in the radio itself and they could tell what it is.

Pull out the radio and give the dealer the serial number on the radio. They can find out the code for you. or just take the car back to the dealer and tell them to take it out. They better not charge you since they failed to supply you with the new radio code.
