Default Question about "Car" indicator

Hi everyone
My dad uses C-Class and there is a "car" indicator stayed on. I haven't read the manual yet. But I suspected that could be a maintenance indicator.
So anyone please tell me whether it is a maintenance light or not. Thank you very much

KBook

What is a "car" indicator? one of the lights on the dash, ie, check engine, esp/acr? Or does it show you the car is indicated?

In a normal car like a camry or an accord, something that remotely resembles to a car symbol lights up, that means the doors are not shut tight. But hey this is a benz forum.

What kind of a moron expects the forum to help solve his problem while he failed to mention the car model and the type of warning light? Geeeeee!

We all know that there is no so-called "car" warning light. Maybe he has the 2012 model especially built for his majesty!

Hmmm... a car warning light. Actually, makes sense to me. It's no more in specific then, I don't know... say a check engine light! What's that supposed to me... pop the hood, yep it's still there!

A check engine light is pollution related failures. For example, the MAS or O2 sensor or sensors could be gone. Both parts are in the $300 bracket, give or take a few $$

True.... or any number of other things. Some as stupid as a loose gas cap!

Thanks, I forgot about the gas tank cap. I had to drive 30 miles to the dealer to have the code reset, my son filled my car up for me and forget to "tighten" the cap and sure enough a check engine light.

Sorry I haven't been here for a while and given a spec about the car.
The car is C230 Sedan 2001. My dad said the one indicator light lit up and it is a car symbol inside.
It's not a trunk lid indicator for sure or a gas's door indicator.
I would like to ask you what does the maintenance indicator, for this model or general mercedes, look like?
Thanks everyone for replying me.

for you fly_major_fly, if you don't want to help just shut the hell up.

Thanks everyone

hey kbook.....i read the forum coz i wanted to help by providing an answer.

i was rather disappointed because there was no information in your question for me to answer.

if i were you, i would learn a lesson, and possibly be apologetic. that's how i was raised in my family -- be swift in seeing one's own problem, be humble, and fix it.

instead, you said, "shut the hell up." this clearly reveals your type & upbringing, i am sorry for you. bless your heart and soul!
