Q for K1 Motorsports on HID Conversion Kits
If anyone from K1 or anyone who has purchased the HID conversion kits .... I've got an '05 C230K Sport Sedan (w/o HID) that I'm seriously thinking about converting to HID. The kits offered by K1 state "totally plug and play". Is this a pretty simple conversion? Any special tools or skill involved? If it's *that* easy it seems like a no-brainer to get HID for under 300!

Yes, it is true plug & play. No error messages from MFD. Special MB wiring harness is included so your original wiring harness is not altered. Please note that we have two versions of HID kits; regular and slim. You can see few pictures of HID kits installed at our website under 'customer gallery' page.

The HID Kit are not 100% plug and play. for all the new mercedes 01 and up you have to buy this special clip or something for the computer lighting system. this part cost about $100. if u dont use it than your lights will just flicker on and off. Its a safety feature because the HID use 35w bulbs instead of 55w factory bulbs. so without this part you cant use ur HID kit. I;ll find out the exact name for the part. I also bought the projector assembly and will have everything installed next week. if anybody wants i can send picture when i get everything done.

Most HID kits on the market that are not Mercedes-specific, will have flickering problem.

JP: Did you ninstall your set from K1 yet. I would be very interested in your experience and pics if possible.

K1: I presume your set replaces the whole internal housing etc, is that right? Or does it replace the current internal bulbs etc and uses the current housing.
I looked on your site but didn't really see what I was looking for. I have a C230 Sport Coupe (2003). A peek at the installation guide would be very helpful.
