Im test driving a 2003 C230 Kompressor with 85000 KM. The owner is asking $15000 Canadian. I am not really familiar with Mercedes cars, are these good vehicles? what would I have to watch out for. The price seems fairly average for similar cars with similar km. Looking for advice.

Price seems high but km seem good. Is it a sport coupe or sedan? I have an 02 coupe since new with only 42000km.
Check out www.autotrader.ca and www.vmrcanada.com for price comparisions. Prices are higher out west but I don't know where you are located.

make sure the roof works!!!! if it has a panoramic roof then be aware of the cost of repair....the pano roofs have been know to open and not close!! roof jams up, pieces break, roof motor gear wears out. cables wear out.

Take a look and make sure the camshaft seal is not leaking onto the wiring harness...
Being as you are in canada Mercedes Canada will not recognize the US service campaign which was issued to remedy this issue.
We purchased our car 3 weeks ago and have managed 4 days of driving it so far... now it's parked and waiting for a reolution which will not cost us $6K

there is actaully a small repair for that. you can get a small pigtail harness at the dealer and it just goes inline from the camshaft plug into the original harness. supposedly fixes the problem.

It would have been a small repair, but the dealer stated that my O2 sensors, ECU and other sensor all need to be replaced as they have been compromised by the oil leaking into the wiring harness....
