Potential 1995 c220 purchase
Hello,
I live in Montreal, Canada and we have some harsh winters here.
This 1995 C220 has 263 000 KM (163 000 Miles) (asking price 1500 Cdn; 1542 USD) and some minor rust around the body (see pictures). What I love the most about this car is the previous owner. He is an older man and he used to be a mechanic for Rolls Royce in England. He has owned this car since 2000. I know that I'm not buying it from someone who constantly pushed it to its limits. I do not yet know of any major problems with it but he only brings it in twice a year for regular maintenance. He does most of the repairs himself. I wouldn't use this as an everyday car but only for weekends and running errands.
Any advice on cheap rust removal and what site is good for parts. I really wanted to modify the cluster guage. And I'm assuming I can't put a momo racing wheel because of the airbags. Does anyone know of a nice steering wheel that allows the old airbags to be used?
I don't know if any of you have ever been to Montreal or Canada. But considering its age, the body is amazing. My father's 2001 Caravan has way more rust on it. The winters up here to a number on your car. Thank you very much in advance for all of your input.
