Default Potential Benz Purchase

Hello Benz owners...I did not know where to post my question, so I will start here and the new owner topics. I am thinking of purchasing an E320 Bluetec (Currently own a VW TDI and Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins). If you can't tell, we like our diesels. But, before I do, I need to know how these rear-wheel drive vehicles operate in the snow. Yes, I am from Richmond Virginia, but we travel back to western PA often, especially over the winter holidays. Any input would be a great help.

Thanks.

Paul

Winter snow tires and you go in the snow, but it is like any rear wheel drive car, easy on the gas easy on the brakes!

We have had a few diesels and you cant beat the ride and the reliability. Althoue im not sure about the snow because I stored mine away for the winters. Im in Saratoga Springs New York where the winters are horriable. I am looking to purchase a 07 or 08 BLUETECH in the future also. I test dove one and i fell in love with it.

Thanks for the input...If anyone else has something to say, please feel free. We are still looking. While shopping we asked the sales women if the car was front wheel or rear wheel drive. She informed us front wheel drive. She also told us the C Class would have the diesel early next year. When I spoke with the sales manager, he said the earliest the C Class would get the diesel is late 2009 if ever. Make sure you do your homework before going to the dealer. They will tell anything to sell a car.

pmkohler,
Honestly the rwd mb is "ok" in the snow, nothing to write home about. You can get the E-350 with 4 wheel drive. I wonder if you could get it with a diesel AND awd; that would be an amazing vehicle. How do you feel about special orders?

Blue -

I asked the same question (diesel and awd) and he seems to think that would never happen. That would be the perfect car IMO.

Thanks,
Paul

You know every time I buy a car from MB they tell me they cant get what I want, and I have to buy something on the lot.And I always check it out for myself, find it is possible, and then basically tell them I'm only interested in exactly what I mentioned, then they grumble and take my order. Of course no discounts when you special order.

Example: in 1989 I wanted a white/blue 190 with manual tranny, they said it didn't exist; I walked away and one week later they had one, I bought it on the spot. In 1995 I wanted a blk w blk 300 sec, same story. In 2000 they told me CLKs didn't come in light blue or manual, so I bought silver auto, and sob I saw a blue one that year.

Ask some of these guys in here from Europe if they have ever seen an E diesel awd.I bet they have them in Germany. You know they don't sell the V-class here either, but it does in fact exist. I see what I can find too.
