I agree with you sleepwalker, but i was actually refering to SUVs, i think we can compare W221 S350 to the lexus LS .. but anyway for kross's compare request, i think C230K is a great car, probably one of the best styled vehicles ever built, got some quality issues in thier earier models (2001 ...) but hopefully these are straghtened out now (or at least i hope so, as i got an 04 but didn't revieve it yet)

All this info is helping me a lot.

Sleepwalker, what you wrote made me remember somthing. My '06 Prius has a backup camera as well... I guess that would be a definite no in the C230. See the thing is, I realize that a higher-end MB will have every feature under the blue sky, BUT, I am trying to switch over to MB within my current car's price range: $27-$30K. And I am trying to see how the MB features compare to my current features between my current car and the MB cars within this price range. And within this price range what I have found comparable are slightly used C230's or C240's. Hence, my first post.

So correct me if I am wrong, but if I were to switch over to say a '05 C230 Komp (w/ navi) from my '06 Prius (both in the same price range), I would lose the following features:
1) Integerated factory bluetooth with call Send/End buttons on steering wheel
2) Backup camera: Full color, Dynamic lighting (makes things brighter in dim light, dims contrast when it is too bright)
3) Smart-key entry/ignition, push button start (where you never have to take the keys out of your pocket)
4) 6-CD in-dash disc changer that plays MP3 CD's. Plus the built-in Aux (MP3 player) outlet in the armrest.

...And I will gain the following:
1) Leather, powered, memory seats
2) Dusk-sensing xenon headlights
3) Dual-zone climate control (passenger and driver side)
4) Heated seats

Am I missing anything, or are any of my assumptions incorrect? Please feel free to add or subtract from my list. I want to know exactly what I will be losing and gaining...after all, that's what car-research is all about!

if you can tell me the VIN of your target vehicle, then i can know what's on it and what we can retrofit or what you can specicify/custom on accessories.

newer models are also fitted with multi-function steering wheel buttons.
no need for back-up camera for it's just a sedan.
am not sure if keyless-go can be fitted on this model
cd changer can be fitted (6 cd's)

there's more on it than what's on your lists.

Quick question, is this C230K a 2004 or 2004.5, and what is the difference?

Sleepwalker,I don't really have a specific car in mind (yet). However, later on inJanuary is when I will narrow down my lists and I will be sure to call on you forthe favor I do appreciate all the info you're giving me!

Also, I do know it has many other features not listed in my list, but I am just stressing the specific ones that I will lose or gain from my current car ('06 Prius).

Washoor, I definitely do not mind you asking any questions in this thread. I am still in the research phase for my future MB so the more I know, the better off I am. So by all means, ask away!
