I recently aquired a 2003 c180 komp saloon 4dr.
it came from a familly member so i was aware there were some problems, however i have one i cant solve?

When i stop the car "and its worse if i have been pushing on" i get a strong smell of fumes, it smells like a combination of exhaust and petrol, sometimes the petrol is worse sometimes the exhaust, and sometimes a faint burning smell as well.

i have checked for fule leeks and cant see any. i dont have a blowing exhaust. however there is a smell of petrol coming from the gap between the air filter container and the engine.
