Well...where is the carbon canister?

but, I think I may have figured it out...I have been letting my sister-in-law drive it for a week...she is the one who discovered the smell. When she dropped it off..I looked in the trunk and saw some gas stains on the filler neck inside....thought that was wierd...so...when I looked in the fuel door...the cap was not "locked" twisted, just setting in the tube....Then I saw a LARGE fuel stain on the rear quarter pannel....I think this is a case of filling the tank then forgetting to put the cap back on....went around a turn and the load splashed out....then ran down filler tube inside of trunk....but she has my keys in Florida right now...so I am stuck till Sunday!!

I had a similar smell if the gas attendant did not fully close my gas cap...

check the EHA valve, its under the air filter cover, on the back of the fuel injection manifold. Its black and about the size of a cell phone. it leaks in the back through tiny weep holes, and it cannot be repaired. costs about 200 dollars if this is the culprit.
