Vehicle 2002 c230k

Problem 1: When I press the panic button I see the little red light flash but the car never responds. The alarm works properly and the remotes seem to work properly. If I arm the alarm and then open a door the alarm starts screaching so i know the alarm works. Any suggestions?

Problem 2: My rear speakers stopped working. I have the base radio and base speakers. No AMP that I can find and I've checked every fuse in the car. My front speakers and everything else works properly but for some reason the back ones are dead. Are there crossovers somewhere that might have fuses in them?
