Default No Radio Signal

I have an 02 C320 and I cant get a signal on the radio. Its like the antenna is not attached to the radio or something. I pulled it and everything is intact. Also the keyless isnt working unless I am right up on the door. Im guessing that there is some antenna that isnt connected or something. IM GOING NUTS TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT!!!! Has anyone had this happen or know what may be causing this????? Any help or insight would be apppreciated!!!!!!

Havent tried the battery in the key yet but I am more concerned with why in the world that the radio just quit getting an FM signal out of the blue. I have checked all the wiring and all the fuses and everything and am dumbfounded! I just dont get it. Is the radio antenna amplified??? I just dont understand how an antenna can just "go out". Has ANYONE ever heard of this??? Should I replace the radio???

the antenna is amplified in that car. which radio do you have? there are two or three head units that come in that model, and they all come with their own set of problems. i wouldnt start with replacing the head unit, because that system uses a fiber optic ring, and also a star configuration electrical system, so the problem may be in a different component entirely and just showing up in the antenna reception.

if you have the money, i would really recommend going to the dealer for this kind of a problem. their diagnosis machine can usually tell them right where the problem is, or at least get them a lot closer to it than just shooting in the dark. sorry to say, but the newer audio systems are crazy difficult to diagnose on your own.

The head unit that I have is the one with the tape, phone, and cd changer controls. I think you may be right about having to take this one to the stealership because I am lost on this one and Ive gone through alota electrical repairs and fixes for many types of vehicles in my short life but this one has whooped me. I am just supprised that nobody has has this happen. Usually things like this that are pretty strange tend to be common among like models. Anyone know where the assembly for the amplified antenna may be?????

I have a 2003 C240 and shortly after I bought it, the radio stopped working. It showed like it was "on" but no sound. The guy that sold me the car took it to the dealership and they said I needed a whole new radio. I looked on Ebay and found one with a warranty and the guy offered to pay for it--the thing is, they never shipped it and that's a whole other story. However, the radio started working on it's own again. It does "go out" ever once in a blue moon (which pisses me off) but it seems to fix itself every time. I don't know how to check for a possible loose wire, but I would love to fix it for good.

I would say it is your antenna amplifer module. It's located in the headliner all the way to the back attached to the rear window.I have changed them out for that same reason at the dealership.

I have the same exact problem as you. Only the infra red signal will unlock the doors. Not the transmitted signal. I too have poor radio reception and have asked the dealership if the 2 may be related. They said no... I seriously don't believe them though. It's funny that both the remote and radio depend on the FM modulation of the integrated antenna and both aren't working correctly. Howeveer, they did order me a new remote, and it is due in this next week. They seem to think it will solve the problem. Will let you know what I found out. Als, since your post is a little outdated, have you found anything new about your problem?
