Hi-Take it from me, you're gonna have to find a good Mercedes mechanic in your area who knows about your era 280. Especially if you need engine/trans work done. What kind of shape is the car in? If it's just cosmetic, that's easy. Subscribe to The Star magazine, it has a lot of info and advertisers who are into restorations.
