<P class=Msonormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face=Garamond size=3>Hello all, my immediate concern is how to re-set my oil service light on my new (used) 1998 C-Class C230?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I just bought this car and I love doing my own work on my cars.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I just changed the oil and would like to re-set it.</FONT></P>
<P class=Msonormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face=Garamond><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=Msonormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face=Garamond size=3>This brings up another question; can someone recommend a service manual for this car?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Seems most do not have one for the 230?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I found a Chilton manual that covers many makes of cars within this year including the Benz but don’t know if this has most of the service info. </FONT></P>

Here's the reset procedure for the FSS system. I would recommend signing up with ALLDATA, it's cheap and full of up to date information, TSB's, Recalls, etc. etc. Good Luck!!


    After approx. 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10 000 miles (Canada: 15 000 km) for approx. 10 seconds.

      I've been a member for over a year now and have both of my cars registered. It was $25 for the first one and $15 for the second. When you renew it's $15 each of which I just did a couple months ago. When you sign up it will be part of the DIY section and you'll find the information invaluable. I have the factory CD's for my cars and never use them, ALLDATA is better the CD's and easier to navigate around. Check them out.....</P>


      And no I have no affiliation with ALLDATA, I'm just a VERY satisfied customer and have learned a bunch!!</P>
