Need advice...
I have a 2002 C240 which had intermittent blinker/brake light issues. I could some days have 4 faults saying backup light on or blinker not working and other days I would not have any faults.
I took the care in last Thursday and the guy called me on Friday and said that it needed a SAM for the rear lights and it was also due a minor service. The total was $484.
Today, he called and said he still did not have the SAM, but there was a power surge or something and the Xenon headlight is now blown. So, now I'm looking at $1,236.
My headlight was working fine when I took it in.... is this something that is common for this type of problem? He talked like it happens all the time. Need advice asap !!!!!

That sucks if this is something that was not messed up before you took the car in and that they broke. They charge outrageous prices at the dealership, so they should be held to a high standard and zapping parts is unacceptable. You should push for them to replace it at no cost. At a minimum, you should only have to pay wholesale price for parts and no labor.
