Lug i think the SL should have a full-size spare. I know the W126s do.

 

If I weren't so damn lazy, and groggy from just over eating, I'd go take a look. I mean, it's just in the garage about 40 ft away... but later.

Anyway, are you telling me that the bolt size is the same if my spare is full size? I got the impression it was steel wheel versus alloy wheel regardless of size.

 

I was fine with changing the tire, just ticked when I figured out that there were different sized wheel bolts for the spare. Now I need to buy a replacement vehicle tool kit & wheel bolts for the spare. Nothing is easy.

My spare is full size, but I have different bolts because the spare is steel where the ones on the car are alloy rims. Thickness issue...u know.

I had a flat rear tire not too long ago, but it went flat in my garage. Good thing I just threw it in my truck and took it to get repaired.

 

My full size spare is an alloy so i use the same bolts.

 

It must not be the one that came with the car.

 

Yeah it is all W126s that i have seen all have full size and same style wheels that came on the car from the factory. I guess they just lately have been thinking about that bottom line and decided on using steel wheels.

 

That's weird. Pretty expensive spare tires.

I need to go check mine... still. I just don't want to empty the trunk and then put everything back in right now. I have a lot of stuff in there right now. It would be like spring cleaning. I usually don't do that until fall.
