We intermittently get a “light sensor visit shop” error on our 2002 C240 in the auto headlamp mode with running lights on. Has any seen this problem? (I searched and found no post).

The dealer thinks it is the battery, but the car starts fine and I would think the starter would be the biggest drain on the battery.

no tint on windshield middle upper area?

 

Here is a picture of the windshield upper area which is tinted except where the 2 sensors are. This is the original windshield and the windshield has not been damaged to my knowledge. I am assuming that one sensor is for the auto wiper feature and the other for the headlamps.
