Good luck on your warranty.
Leather is nice, when new, but it doesn't hold very well over the years. MB is using good one, but I've seen 3-years old VW with badly wear-out leather.
That's why ordering new ML we waited a year to get cloths.

On a 2005 it should be fixed under warranty, in the UK warranty even covers a squeeky seat or a rattle. If they say no, tell them you're going to write to Mercedes In Strtguart-Germany. That'll put the wind up 'em!!
FYI: My C320 is now 4 years old, it was purchased with premium leather (2 grades available for UK market), it's in brand new condition, if it's warm and sunny where you are i'd suggest buying a quality cleaner and seperate leather cream to nourish the leather with oils, in Europe this treatment is suggested to be done every 6 months. More if it's a warmer country/state like Spain/TX.
I use AUTOGLYM, it's even used by the Queen and the Royal Family (or there servants more like).
Good Luck.

You mean Prince is not rubbing the cream on his seat? Darn! Some people are born lucky.
We used to have Volvo with cloth seats. After 17 years/170,000 miles of beating the car for family/school driving it went on junk yard with seats dirty, but still in good condition.
The cloth (with vinyl sides) on our 7 years old ML is in showroom condition. Never rub anything on it, but my butt.

Hi, I have a C180k, same year, same problem with the center console, near de volume button. The guy from the
service center got the paper work done, and in a month I should have it replaced with no pay! warranty!
I live in Romania and this was an easy solution(had some others, more complicated! :
