My dealer made me xtra keys, the new ones with chrome, I also have the two original ones if I buy another benz, will the new keys work if i get the reprogramed????

 

you cannot reprogram mb keys. they are only able to be programmed one time by MB

 

I recently bought a 2001 c class MB and only had one key what would you guys suggest or where can i find info on adding a 2nd key for my MB.. thanks

 

ya me to i bought a 2000 C280 Sport and it too only had one key.

 

I know there are keys available at ebay.com store but they aren't new so it need to be reprogrammed. I am currently trying to find some information on how to reprogram a MB key.

 

I have the exact same car and year and the dealership told me that I need to copy my registration, etc and mail it to MB and then and only then will they replace the key. You CANNOT get a key and reprogram it for this model MB for some reason and the cost for the key from MB will be $220.00 Please let me know if you find another solution because I am down to the valet key because my wife lost the other key we had, so believe me i have been doing my homework on obtaining another key for my ride but unless I go toMB and spend the $220.00 you have no other choice
