Key Operated Windows
My owner's manual talks about the option of opening and closing windows-and sunroof-with the key. It doesn't work on myvehicle, even with the key up close to the door.
The manual doesn't say that this is optional equipment, as it does with other options.
So is it malfunctioning or just not included in my model?

RE: Key Operated Windows
I own the 2002 C230 Sport Coupe. It definitely works but the key must be very close to the sensor on the door handle. If the remote doesn't work, try using the mechanical key by holding the keyin the open or close position for about 5-10 seconds. I've owned my car since new and can't remember if the dealer had to program it or if it just needed to synchronized by using the mechanicalkey.
It was not an option. It was standard equipment.

RE: Key Operated Windows
Look closely at your drivers door handle, you should see a tiny red square. That would be the receiver. The key should be held about 12 to 14 inches away from it; the press and hold the open button for the windows & roof to open.
i fyou see the tiny red square & this does not work you probably have a faulty unit. Mine was faulty once & the dealer had to practicall replace the entire door mechanism & lock set. Fortunately it was still under warranty.
Hope you get it to work.
