well got the fuel pump running, it's pushing no volume... it's been modified to a single pump system for some reason, anyone know why this could be? was it a TSB, or recall or ? that put it into a 1 pump system or did someone do this on their own?

pulled the pump/filter out, followed the wires, chopped em and rewired it, blew out the pump/filter/lines, cleaned the pump off (hey it's a MB pump!), hooked it all back up and it runs! but the fuel filter soft line to the main hard line has 2 pinholes in it, so i need to replace those, but after 4 days, i finally got it running!

 

You are a glutton for punishment. But then again, there is the joy of a project, and the satisfaction of knowing you only paid $900.

heh, i hooked up the driveshaft today, the car moves forwards/backwards so the tranny seems ok (though i haven't driven it yet). i like project's and in all honesty, it'll take lots of my time, but other than needing headlights, left marker light, windshield, and a shifter ****....it's not bad at all. i've delt with a LOT worse... (see: smashed in to the motor)

 

well here it is...i wiped it off, haven't washed it or waxed it yet... a paint job is needed.

 

Nice car! Rims aren't my taste but the dark blue color is cool. I need a beater car and might get a early C280 myself, they just keep going and going...

i went to MB today, and talked my way into a wholesale account.... got the fuel line and it runs/drives GREAT, doesn't overheat, shift's properly...really nice ride.

so now an ignition switch with key comes to the top of my list (used) if anyone has one.... also lookin for the headlights and marker light, and a LR drivers door glass, amongst other items...

as far as the wheels, not really my taste either, but they came with the car, wasn't going to argue considering i have under 900$ into it running/driving and the wheels would probably sell locally for...600$, they're 18".

 

Not sure how one does that? If it would't be cheating on your agreement with the dealer, would you consider purchaseing parts for the rest of us-well, me?

I'm particularly curious about the wholesale price of PN#202-690-41-87. It's the carbon-fiber "look" B pillar door trim that comes on C-280 Sport models. My local dealer wants $95, which seems exorbitant. I haven't found any non-dealer parts houses that carry the part.

 

heh, i have an account number, not sure if i actually have an account or if i just got the parts i bought today at the wholesaler price...

 

got the windshield replaced today...startin to look nicer.
