RE: Just bought C240 and Must lower it
Tried calling K1 for info.
I'm more confused than ever. I heard Tein S Tech springs were re released and have a perfect and level drop. Are they progressive rate and matched to the stock shocks

None. Most of our customers who buy springs ends up with upgrading to coilovers eventually. Just trying to save members $$.

Tom- You're really lobbying quite diligently for those TEIN Basic's.Are you running a special on them or do you have a surplus you're trying to clear out? What does a set of those run?

I hear ya about saving $$ in the long run. When you say none, are you saying you're out of stock or there are no specials? What's the cost on a set of those?

My friend told me that if I'm just going for an ordinary street ride,i should avoid using a coilover for it make a misalignment in my car... He doesn't want me to commit the same mistake he has done before when he change his Mercedes coilovers on a his local dealer.... I guess I just to have to be more careful making some upgrades in my car... But if your in racing, my dealer told me that TIEN basic is the most affordable coilovers...

That's the basic premise of the advice I was offering you. CO's are great for specific applications, but you always walk the fine line on the alignment issue and secondly, there is really no point in spending the extra money to be able to adjust your ride height, if you never plan on adjusting your ride height.

Hi,
I am also getting ready to drop my 02 C240, I wasready to buy tein basicc/o's but now that I've read this I may just go with the spring / strut combo. But I have concernes... I have been told that with the springs you will lose the stiffness and begin to experiance bouncing and wobble in a matter of a year?
Also I've been told thatsprings will lag or drop soon after putting them on ... as much as half an inch.. is this true? Everyone tells me that the C/O's are the smarter way to go.. But I have also heard about the alighnment issues.
I have been fighting this issue for over a month.. I cant make up my mind!!![&:]

I'm in the same boat - 2004 C240 - I've added the funnel spoke 17's (from the c230) - it looks awesome - now the front sits a bit too high. I have beenflip flopping back and forth over the last year or so- Tein basics COor H&R springs. All I want is to drop the front about 2 inches - I'm happy with the rear. My concern however, is that if I load up the car with colleagues I'm affraid it will rub.
Has anyone just lowered the front? I ask this because I hear numerous complaints about springoptions where the rear is lowered more than the front - it seems the rear sits fine asis.
All I want is to drop the front a tad - $1k for COs(installed) seems a bit extreme. I'mnot going to autocross - just commute back andforth slow bay area 880 traffic.
Thanks!
Chris
