i also posted this in the "general tech" section.
Does anybody in here have a w202 c-class that's an automatic... and has an intake in that car? i was just wondering, cause my gf, who has the same car i do, wants to put an intake in her auto transmission w202, but wants opinions on how it sounds and stuff like that before she decides to put one in... like how does it sound, what brand of intake, what kind of intake?

I assume you mean a cold air intake, there are some out there, according to what engine and year, but most of them aren't real CAI, as they all have a shield around the cone filter, so you really not getting cold air. According to what year cars you have I wouldn't make this mod as you probably end up getting check engine lights and perhaps less performance then you now have. Mercedes EMS are very sensitive to air flow thru the MAS and that's where problem might occur. I use a K&N replacement filter in my 99 C280 for 2 years and have noticed a increase in performance, but a bit of MPG loss. But my best advice is stay away from CAI. Additionally you, folks who have done this mod, have not heard any difference in the engine, too much padding and insulation. Best bet would be a free flow exhaust cat back, you'll get an increase in performance and a nice sound according to the make you buy, but be prepared to spend over $1000 for a cat back.
