Default HOW TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE

Hello guyz,

i have a 94 model C220 Benz, it has an AMG kit on it. I would like to know whether there is any risk of putting a turbo or putting performance air filters as you know the car has numerous sensors. It might be conflicting with the mind of the ECU of the car.[&:]

good answers will be greatly appreciated.

First off to add turbo aka Kompressor, it is my understanding that it will increase pressure to the top end requiring better head gasket, valve cover and vc gasket. in other words there is a lot more to it than plug and play. not trying to bea downer. however there are performance chips avail that are not cheap but are effective try to get it from one that installs and guarantee.
to start 1. how many miles are on the vehicle?
2. have you tried a full blown tune-up. ex plugs, high perf wires fresh oil/filter, air filter K&N,belts etc...
3 whatAMG parts are allready on your car?let me know if you have trouble finding info.

thats a great question... my car has only an amg body kit...

that is why i am willing to increase its performance... you know that amg also comes with body kit only & no tune up to the engine..

the car has done 130000 kms. there are all original parts installed it is my first time to hear from you about high performance wires also....

i was also looking to do it in cheap... i was willing to put a K&N air filter only instead of the original one but i dont know how effective that will be...

Going cheap for performance on a MB will rarely pay off honestly.

In terms of performance, Eisenmann provides race exhausts for most MB or if you'd like to be quieter you can opt for a Remus.

Default RE: HOW TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE

In general if you would like to add a turbocharger to a Naturally aspirated vehicle there are a few things to consider.
- Engine compression ratio
- Larger injectors
- ECU programming
- Turbo Manifold and associated parts fabrication

If you car is older and not well maintained then you maye want to do a compression test. Additionally you would want to consider beefing up your engine with stronger/forged pistons and rods.

However, there are many cars that are non-turbo from the factory running around on 6psi of boost and a simple piggy back ecu controller to supply more fuel for the incresed airflow.

You may be able to find a kit that is premade and has everything you need, that is the ideal situation if you are not able to fabricate and design everything yourself.

Hope this helps.
