Help! My 280 has a problem.
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone could help me. I am having a little trouble with my 2000 C280. Started about a month ago. Was driving to work , stopped at a stop light and the car just shut down. Turned the key, car started and I drove to work. Didnt think anything of it.
Then yesterday car did the samething. It turned off and i started it back up.Now for the fun part. Later in the day yesterday the car wouldnt start up. Just turned over.( was a cold start) I let it set, came back a hour later and it started right up. Drove for about 2 mile, car turned off in the middle of the road. Wouldnt start back up, just turned over. I pushed it off the side of the road, let it set for a bit and it started right up. I drove home and havent moved it sence. Anyone have any ideas of what it might be?[/align]

It sounds like the old "Mass Air Sensor" trick that MB has admitted to me personaly on several occasions. If the MAS goes out there is no "limp-home" mode. They replaced 3 on my C230 for exactly the same symptoms. Could be wrong. Would need to check fuels and firing circuits also. Scan it.

Have been doing my research here. Sounds like it could be Crankshaft Position Sensor problem.
When engine's cool, it would start. Once it heats up and turn off the engine, it wouldn't start. Leave it so that it can cool down. Try again after about 30 minutes and it starts again. Some guys said their rides stopped in the middle of the road. You may want to search "Crankshaft Position Sensor".
